Yes, Squamish is Canada’s climbing Mecca, but
in addition to the world class climbing, Squamish offers spectacular
windsurfing, kite boarding, hiking, backcountry skiing, fishing,
white water kayaking, rafting, sailing and scuba diving, and so much
more! Here are some useful links to help you eat, sleep, and plan
your time in “Squish”.

Groceries
To fuel the fire, several supermarkets exist in and around
Squamish. Downtown
Squamish is home to Save On
Foods and IGA. Extra Foods located on the highway just north of Squamish.
Coffee
Sunflower Café or Pause Café located on the
main street (Cleveland Ave) of Squamish have a friendly atmosphere
and great local bakery treats. Eagle’s Nest & Eagle
Coffee Ground’s in Brackendale also offer a good brew.
Squamish is also host to the coffee chains of Starbucks (located
just off the Sea to Sky Highway in the Squamish Station Mall) and
Tim Horton’s (just north of Squamish on the Sea to Sky).
Beer
…never far from a climbers heart. The best place to
get beer and meet other climbers is probably the Howe Sound Brewing
Company (aka The Brew Pub). Real beer, brewed on the premises
(and you know they must be climbers, with a Cooper & Baldwin
Ale!). Some other places to go to meet the locals over a
pint are the Shady Tree or The Cliffside Pub.
Restaurants
Again Squamish boasts a full range of restaurants of all types.
Some of our favorites are: pub fare: Howe Sound Brew Pub,
Japanese: Sunrise Sushi, Greek: Yianni Taverna, fish
& chips: Wigan Pier, and a bit more upscale: Eagle’s
Nest or Ian's Bistro. The Brackendale Bistro
is another local’s favorite, especially for breakfast.

Gear
Harnesses, ropes, cams…you can be sure to find just about all
you’ll need for any style of climbing that you chose to do in
Squamish.

Intuition Sport Inc.
A friend of mine always had trouble with his boot liners and a
severe bout of frostbite had left his feet very susceptible to bad
fitting liners and of course, the cold. Intuition liners are
molded to an individual’s foot and boot using a thermal process
and are rumored to be the best liner available. My friend swears
they are the best liner he has had. Call them and find out for
yourself what makes them so special.
