So you have heard that there is climbing around Victoria but after
scrambling for hours through the bush found nothing but bruises
and mud? Don't waste your valuable climbing time searching. Let
our guides take you to the best locations and classic climbs in
this region allowing you to focus on the more enjoyable aspects
of a climbing day.
Travel Expenses
There are no Slipstream ACMG guides living in the of Victoria area
on Vancouver Island and so we need to bring them over from the mainland.
Travel expenses include transport, ferry and a small amount of travel
time for the guide. If you choose a time that our guides are already
on Vancouver Island conducting a course, the Travel Costs are waived,
making a cheaper experience for you. Check out the Dates
page to find out when out guides are going to be there.
FLEMING BEACH
Easy access makes Fleming Beach a great location for a quick skills
program or introduction to outdoor climbing. Short but challenging
climbs make this waterfront location an interesting place to climb.

MT. MACDONALD
Located in the forest, Mt MacDonald offers longer routes and a feeling
of getting "away from it all". Although the area may be
a little difficult to navigate when first looking to climb here,
our guides can show you the best areas and climbs to hang out on.

MT. WELLS
This area is similar to Mt Macdonald and located not too far from
it but it tends to sport harder routes and a little more variety.

SUGARLOAF
Sugarloaf is quickly emerging as the new premier crag in the Victoria
area offering many challenging routes in the higher grades. A "secret"
crag until not that long ago, this area has been developed at a
rapid rate and promises to be one of the better climbing areas around
Victoria.

Equipment List
You will need a UIAA approved harness and helmet and a pair of
climbing shoes for these climbs. If you do not have access to these
things, we can supply them for a small fee:
- Harness - $2
- Helmet - $3
- Shoes - $5
If you are being guided for a full day bringing lunch is recommended.
Just remember to bring food that can be packed into a small climbing
pack (not a huge picnic spread) and provides you with a good burst
of energy (celery sticks are not recommended).
