Do you want to develop your climbing skills and abilities further? The Intermediate courses are designed for more experienced climbers who want to move into leading and take their climbing to the next level.

ROCK TWO - Leading Sport Climbs
Are you tired of always coming second? This two day course is a good way to prepare for the challenges of leading sport climbs.  Located on our private cliffs, it covers a comprehensive range of skills and allows lots of time for practicing skills in a supervised environment so you can competently enjoy the thrills of climbing on the "sharp end" of a rope. SPORT LEADING - One Day Intensive
This one day sport leading course is for climbers with some experience leading single pitch sport climbs.  The emphasis is on sport leading principles and leading multi-pitch sport climbs.  MORE>>

ROCK THREE - Leading Gear Climbs
Learn how to manage protection on gear routes and prepare for the mental challenge of leading traditional climbs.  This two day course allows lots of time to practice your skills, as well as lots of feedback on gear placement. MORE>>

GEAR LEADING  - One Day Intensive
An accelerated version of Rock Three, this one day course gets right into protecting & climbing multi-pitch traditional routes without as much supervised practice time. MORE>>

ROCK SPECIALIST - A Passion For Climbing
This extensive 12 day program is the perfect setting for developing a high level of climbing skill and self reliance on any technical rock terrain. It will develop the necessary skills for leading, route finding and self-rescue while progressively challenging the climber on a variety of terrain. From sport routes to aid climbing, this course lays the groundwork for a lifetime of climbing. MORE>>

Rock Two - Leading Sport 

COURSE CONTENT
Our private cliffs boast excellent terrain for learning to lead one and two pitch bolted climbs and developing the more complex anchor and rope handling skills that leading sport routes requires.   You will learn:

· Controlled leading progression.
· Lead climbing strategies.
· Equipment selection, uses & limitations.
· Anchors from a lead climber's perspective.
· Multi-pitch lead climbing and descents.
· Basic self-rescue techniques.
· Hazard management on long routes.

We provide all the technical climbing equipment required to participate in the course. The program is run at a 4 to 1 ratio.

Sport Leading - One Day Intensive

This one day accelerated program focuses on leading progression, strategies, and anchors for single and multi-pitch sport leads.   You will learn:

· Controlled leading progression.
· Lead climbing strategies.
· Equipment selection, uses & limitations.
· Anchors from a lead climber's perspective.
· Multi-pitch lead climbing and descents.                                                                   · Station management.                                                                                               · How to fall on lead.
· Basic self-rescue techniques.
· Hazard management on long routes.                                                                      · Lots of time for climbing in a supervised environment with feedback from instructors.

Rock Three - Leading Gear 

COURSE CONTENT
Our 2 day Rock Three course is designed to teach you how to manage protection on gear routes and prepare you for the mental challenges of traditional leading on rock. There will be lots of climbing in a controlled leading progression combined with detailed feedback on gear placements. This provides you with a sound foundation for approaching single and multi-pitch lead climbing on gear. You will learn:

· Controlled leading progression.
· Lead climbing strategies.
· Equipment selection, uses & limitations.
· Anchors from a lead climber's perspective.
· Route finding on crag & multi-pitch routes.
· Multi-pitch lead climbing and descents.                                                                   · Lots of time for climbing in a supervised environment with feedback from instructors.

We provide all the technical climbing equipment required to participate in the course. The program is run at a 2 to 1 ratio. The first day is spent climbing single pitch gear routes and the second is spent leading multi-pitch climbs. This course requires strong seconding skills as a background.

Gear Leading - One Day Intensive

COURSE CONTENT
This one day accelerated course is designed to teach you how to take your lead climbing skills and apply them to multi-pitch gear routes routes. You will learn:

· Gear selection and racking techniques for different routes
· More about how to place gear
· How to protect your belayer and why it is so important
· How to protect yourself as a leader from hazards
· Station management techniques
· Multi-pitch lead climbing and descents
· Route selection - choosing the best routes for your development


We provide all the technical climbing equipment required to participate in the course. The program is run at a 2 to 1 ratio.

Rock Specialist

COURSE CONTENT
From gymnastic leads on sport crags to route finding on complex multi-pitch routes, the Rock Specialist provides thorough presentation and practice of all contemporary free and aid climbing techniques. The course includes:

· Climbing workshops progressing in style, terrain, and difficulty with ongoing coaching and feedback.
· Knots & belay systems supported by a thorough grounding in their construction and application.
· Using guidebooks, route finding skills in the selection, inspection and protection of climbs.
· Complete coverage of anchor construction with both "fixed" & "placed" protection and anchor use in a variety of circumstances.
· Controlled leading skills progression for leading strategies from novice to advanced.
· Multi-pitch descents & rappelling backups.
· Equipment selection - use & limitations.
· Improvised rock rescue training.
· "Big Wall" techniques and improvised aid climbing skills.

Ratios vary throughout the course depending on the activity. This course is designed to function with climbers of all abilities developing at a level appropriate to their individual goals. We provide all the technical climbing equipment required to participate in the course.
